Encrypted Chat In Secure-K

Quick Configuration Procedure

Launch Secure-Chat

The encrypted chat client pre-installed in Secure-K OS is called Secure-Chat, which is a qTox client, compliant with the Tox protocol.

Many Tox-based clients for desktop and smartphone exist, so you can securely chat from your Secure-K desktop with another Windows or Secure-K user, as well as with a smartphone end point.

Click the lock icon, located in the bottom panel in the lower left corner of your desktop, to launch the Secure-Zone that gives you access to Secure-Chat (the “smartphone with a lock inside” icon).

Setup

Upon the first boot, you need to create a local profile for qTox.

Profile-related files will be stored on your Secure-K only.

By clicking on your name on the upper left side of the qTox window, your Tox ID will be displayed on screen.

You have to send your Tox ID to all the users you wish to chat with.

The most secure way for the exchange of the “key” is to send it as the body of an encrypted and signed e-mail message.

By clicking on the “+” icon in the bottom user toolbar, you can add the Tox ID of the user you want to securely chat with:
